Tech Details

FWT Athlete and UAIGM Guide Sam Anthamatten’s ski of choice, the Prime 4.0 doesn’t back down to the most challenging ascents or the gnarliest descents. Developed in collaboration with our ski shaper, Patrik Sannes, this ski has a progressive shape, equipped with a Multi Dimension sidecut, making it agile and effective in tight, technical zones, bags of fun in powder or chopped up snow and a total charger when ripping giant turns down big mountain faces. A Hybrid Core coupled with the ingenious use of TeXtreme Carbon give the ski ridiculous amounts of torsional stability and edge grip for its weight. At 118mm underfoot, with extended rocker in the tip and tail for extra float and slashability, the Prime 4.0 is the tool of escape for riders like Sam who are pushing the limits of steep skiing, taking their outdoor pursuits and styles of skiing to places and levels that didn’t seem possible. Hybrid Core: Balsa, Flax, Poplar

We reinforce the super lightweight Balsa with robust Flax fibres plus Poplar strips crreating a durable wood core that holds an edge like other skis twice its weight.

Multi Dimension Sidecut

This manoeuvrable shape consists of a shorter radius underfoot, keeping the ski nimble on those steep and narrow entries, and longer radii blended out to the tip and tail that ensure a stable and surfy feel when you’re flying out the bottom.

Extended Tip/Tail Rocker

We employ Extended Rocker, a reverse camber shape in the tip and tails, which along with waist width, is the most important element in providing float in fresh snow. Extended rocker also makes pivoting and turn initiation easier and means you have less chance of catching an edge.

TeXtreme Carbon

Used in state of the art aeronautical engineering and deployed as a full layer of laminate in our skis. The weave is made up of thin strips that are resistant to even the smallest cracks and fissures - thinner, lighter and stronger than regular carbon.
